The CBI is investigating four Kolkata Police officers over the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital. These officers were on duty on August 9, the day the doctor’s body was found in the seminar room. Investigators believe their statements are key to uncovering possible evidence tampering.
The officers, including one female cop, have been questioned about the events they witnessed after the body was discovered. Investigators are trying to determine if they followed any orders from their superiors. They may be questioned again if needed.
The CBI is also examining CCTV footage from the hospital. Investigators are checking for signs of tampering, which could be crucial in solving the case. The footage was handed over by Kolkata Police, who handled the initial investigation.
The CBI told a special court that there was an attempt to label the murder as a suicide. Former Principal Sandip Ghosh and ex-SHO Abhijit Mondal are accused of leading the cover-up. Investigators are now working to find their associates in this tampering of evidence.
