Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed senior officials to resolve land disputes promptly and warned of strict action against revenue officials who fail to address public grievances during Janata Darshan in Gorakhpur on Tuesday.
At Gorakhnath Temple, the Chief Minister heard complaints from around 200 people and instructed officials to ensure timely resolution of their issues.
A woman told CM Adityanath that influential people were allegedly blocking her access to a passage and threatening her.
Taking serious note of the complaint, the Chief Minister ordered officials to resolve the matter immediately. He warned that the lekhpal, kanungo and tehsildar could face suspension if they failed to provide her rightful access.
CM Adityanath directed senior administrative officials to take strict action wherever negligence or delays occur in land-related cases. He stressed that officials must handle public complaints seriously and resolve them according to the law.
Several other residents raised land-related complaints and alleged negligence by revenue officials.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned district magistrates to act against officials wherever lapses were found.
CM Adityanath assured residents that the government would support those facing genuine difficulties and urged officials to address their concerns with commitment. He further heard requests for financial assistance for medical treatment and assured applicants of government support.
Officials were directed to ensure that eligible people receive Ayushman cards so they can access medical treatment without difficulty.
