Rescue Operations Underway For 3.5-Year-Old Girl Trapped In Borewell In Rajasthan

Rescue teams are working relentlessly to save a 3.5-year-old girl who fell into a borewell in Kiratpur village, Kotputli, Rajasthan.

The operation involves the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local administration, who are all focused on ensuring the child’s safe recovery.

Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) Brajesh Choudhary reported that significant progress had been made, with teams attempting to pull the toddler out of the borewell.

While speaking to the media, the SDM stated, “The teams of NDRF, SDRF and administration have been trying to carry out the rescue operations. We have placed a ring below the girl so we are hoping we can rescue her soon. There has been no deterioration in the girl’s medical conditions.”

SDRF Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar pointed out the difficulties caused by the surrounding soil.

Kumar explained, “The moisture has compacted the soil around her, making it difficult to dig further. Despite these hurdles, we are doing our best, though we’re unsure how much time it will take.”

He further added, “We are trying to reach the girl but because there is a lot of soil around her we have not been able to rescue her right now. The soil around her is likely due to the moisture but we are trying to dig in the moisture. As of now, we are not sure how much time it will take but we are trying our best.”

Rescue teams, along with medical personnel, have been on-site since the incident, ensuring that all safety protocols are in place.

Local authorities have cordoned off the area to allow the operation to proceed without any interruptions.

Rescue operations in borewell accidents are particularly challenging due to the narrow, deep structure, which makes navigation difficult.

Authorities Tackle Borewell Challenges With Advanced Techniques

To manage the situation, authorities have deployed specialized equipment and techniques, focusing on carefully excavating and securing the area around the borewell to avoid additional complications.

This incident comes just days after the tragic death of a 5-year-old boy on 12 December, trapped for three days in a 150-foot borewell.
