Rajnath Singh Urges IMF To Reconsider Pakistan Loan; Cites Terror Risk

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday urged the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to review its decision to fund Pakistan, warning that Islamabad would likely divert the money to bolster its terror infrastructure.

Speaking at the Bhuj Air Force Station, Singh criticised the IMF’s recent approval of a $1 billion loan to Pakistan, cautioning that such funds could be misused.

“I believe Pakistan will spend a large portion of the funds received from the International Monetary Fund on terror infrastructure,” Singh stated. “India urges the IMF to reconsider its decision.”

He further stressed that the fight against terrorism is no longer solely a matter of security policy, but now forms a key pillar of India’s National Defence Doctrine.

“Together, we will dismantle this proxy and hybrid warfare. As Defence Minister, I reaffirm our commitment to eliminating terrorism at its roots,” he asserted.

Operation Sindoor: A Turning Point

Singh further applauded the Indian Air Force (IAF) for its decisive role in Operation Sindoor, which targeted and destroyed multiple terrorist camps and military assets in Pakistan.

“You have made the entire nation believe that Naya Bharat ab sahan nahi karta, balki wah palat kar jawab deta hai [New India no longer tolerates — it strikes back],” Singh told the Air Warriors. “My words are insufficient to fully honour your achievements, but I speak on behalf of a grateful nation.”

He further highlighted the IAF’s success in destroying nine terrorist camps and several enemy airbases in retaliatory strikes conducted after the Pahalgam terror attack on May 7.

Changing War Strategy And Global Recognition

“The world has seen how India’s war strategy and technological capabilities have evolved,” Singh said. “This was not just a demonstration of strength; it was a declaration that India will no longer remain passive in the face of terror.”

He further emphasised the global praise received for the Indian Air Force, adding: “You dominated and dismantled the enemy. The world is watching and applauding the valour of our forces.”

A Message To The Enemy

Praising the leadership of Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, the Defence Minister further credited the IAF’s precise operations for sending a clear message to Pakistan.

“It is no small feat that our Air Force can reach any corner of Pakistan—and this capability has now been proved beyond doubt,” Singh declared.

Background: Precision Strikes In Response To Terror

India further launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

The operation involved precision air strikes on terrorist facilities deep inside Pakistan, followed by a strong defensive posture against Pakistani military responses.

Singh concluded his address by reiterating India’s stand, declaring, “Our Armed Forces have shown that when the nation faces an attack, they respond with firmness, strategy, and unwavering resolve.”
