Rajnath Singh Praises ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ Ahead Of Netflix Release

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the creators of ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ for presenting the Indian Air Force’s contribution to the Kargil War in a detailed and authentic manner.

In a special video address played at the series premiere, Rajnath Singh said the production has brought an important chapter of India’s military history back into public focus. He said the series highlights the extraordinary determination shown by Indian air warriors while carrying out combat missions at altitudes ranging from 15,000 to 18,000 feet.

According to Rajnath Singh, the production also safeguards the memory of their courage and ensures that younger generations can learn about their service.

The Minister said the Indian Air Force made a crucial contribution to India’s efforts during the Kargil conflict and helped alter the direction of the war. He also described the series’ arrival on Netflix as an opportunity to take this lesser-known story to viewers around the world.

The Defence Minister praised producers Sanjay Routray, Sarita Patil, Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Shrivastava for their work. He also commended director Oni Sen and the entire crew for combining extensive research with technical accuracy and a distinctive visual approach.

Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth said the production presents the commitment and bravery of India’s military personnel in a manner that could motivate younger audiences. He expressed hope that the story would encourage young Indians to explore careers in the armed forces and contribute to national service.

Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos highlighted India’s growing strength in large-scale entertainment production.

The makers held the premiere of ‘Operation Safed Sagar’ at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together senior military officers, government dignitaries and members of the production team.
