Rajeshwar Singh Slams Akhilesh Yadav’s ‘Nepal’ Remark As Insult To India’s Progress

BJP leader Rajeshwar Singh has issued a strong statement against Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s recent comment suggesting that India’s situation could become like Nepal’s.

Singh called the remark not only ‘misleading and laughable’ but also a ‘blatant insult’ to the hard work and achievements of 140 crore Indians.

India is currently the fourth-largest economy in the world, with a GDP nearing $4 trillion, and continues to grow at a robust pace.

Far from the pessimism expressed by Yadav, Singh highlighted India’s leadership in digital payments (UPI), with global recognition and adoption increasing rapidly.

In FY25, India has already recorded exports worth $821 billion, while over 12,000 km of national highways were constructed in FY24 alone—evidence of rapid infrastructure development.

Scientific and Technological Progress

Singh further pointed to the country’s historic space missions, such as Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L1, as examples of India’s advanced scientific capabilities.

He also referenced iconic infrastructure like the Statue of Unity, Chenab Bridge, and the indigenously developed BrahMos missile as proof of India’s rising stature in engineering and defence technology.

India’s youth, Singh noted, are powering the world’s third-largest start-up ecosystem, driven by initiatives like Start-up India, Skill India, and Digital India.

Today’s young Indians are choosing progress, innovation, and global leadership over outdated politics rooted in caste, appeasement, and vote-bank strategies.

“The Indian youth has moved beyond divisive politics. Their aspirations lie in development, technology, and becoming a global leader,” Singh added.

Singh concluded that comparing India to Nepal reflects not only a lack of understanding but also a negative political mindset that refuses to acknowledge the country’s accomplishments.

He said such statements diminish India’s success and aim to distract people from the progress happening across all sectors.

Urging citizens to reject this negativity, Singh reaffirmed that New India is building itself on the foundations of growth, innovation, and global ambition—not on fear, doubt, or political pessimism.
