The day started with elections for fifteen Rajya Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. In the upper house, voting began at 9 a.m., and vote counting was set to begin at 5 p.m. For the ten Rajya Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party has nominated three candidates, while the BJP has eight. While the same is going on, Rajeshwar Singh, MLA from Uttar Pradesh has congratulated Sudhanshu Trivedi, BJP’s senior national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP.
The BJP MLA shared a post on X congratulating Mr. Trivedi. Of the 56 Rajya Sabha seats up for grabs today, 41 members have effectively secured their seats in the upper house.
