Rajasthan SOG Uncovers Wider Network In Fake Medical Registration Scam

In a major breakthrough, Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested three doctors for allegedly securing fake Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) screening test certificates and using them to obtain registration with the Rajasthan Medical Council.

The investigating team carried out the arrests while examining FIR No 08/2026 registered at the SOG police station.

According to Additional Director General of Police Vishal Bansal, foreign medical graduates are required to clear the FMG screening examination conducted by the National Medical Commission (NMC) before they can practice medicine in India.

Investigators found that several candidates who had failed the FMG examination allegedly procured forged certificates and used them to obtain medical registration and begin internships at government medical colleges.

The arrested doctors are Deepak Yadav (28) from Jaipur, Raju Gurjar (28) from Dausa, and Naresh Gurjar (30) from Alwar.

All three had completed their MBBS degrees in Kazakhstan but were unable to clear the FMG examination.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly revealed that they obtained forged FMG certificates through a network linked to the main accused, Bhanaram Mali.

Deepak reportedly paid ₹24 lakh, Raju ₹27 lakh, and Naresh ₹23 lakh for the fake documents.

According to SOG officials, Naresh had already begun his internship at a government medical college in Alwar using the forged certificate, while the other two had completed the registration process with the Rajasthan Medical Council.

The investigation, supervised by Deputy Inspector General Ajaypal Lamba, has so far resulted in the arrest of 17 doctors, the former registrar of the Rajasthan Medical Council, an LDC, the main accused and a middleman.

According to investigators, candidates allegedly paid between ₹20 lakh and ₹30 lakh for forged certificates and medical council registration.

The SOG said the investigation is ongoing and further arrests are likely as authorities continue to uncover the larger network behind the scam.
