Rajasthan Horror: Man Accused Of Killing Wife After Row Over Alcohol Money

A 40-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife after she refused to give him money to buy alcohol, police said. He then allegedly hid her body inside a trunk for four days at their home in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district.

The incident occurred in Agwana Khurd village under the Surajgarh police station limits.

According to police, Krishna Kumar Jat allegedly got into a heated argument with his 34-year-old wife, Sulochana, over money for alcohol.

The dispute allegedly escalated, following which he beat her to death.

Investigators said the accused allegedly tied the victim’s hands and broke her legs to fit the body inside a trunk. He then kept the trunk concealed inside the house for four days.

The couple’s 16-year-old son was away from home when the incident took place. After returning, he repeatedly asked about his mother, but his father allegedly told him she had gone out, offering different explanations over the following three days.

The case came to light on the fourth day after a strong foul smell began emanating from the trunk. Police said the accused allegedly confessed the incident to a villager, who informed the authorities.

A police team reached the house, opened the trunk and recovered the decomposed body.

Surajgarh SHO Ram Singh Yadav said the accused has been taken into custody and allegedly admitted to the crime during preliminary questioning.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police said the exact cause of death and whether any weapon was used will be established after the post-mortem and forensic science laboratory (FSL) reports.

The couple had been married since 2009, and further investigation is underway.
