The Rajasthan government has taken a decisive step in the burgeoning fake Aadhar card case, urging the Central government to initiate a CBI investigation into the matter. The recommendation comes in light of a disturbing revelation from Sanchore, where authorities found fraudulent Aadhaar cards.
Responding to concerns raised by Congress MLA Ratan Dewasi during an Assembly session on Saturday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel disclosed that the state’s IT Ministry has advocated transferring the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Patel acknowledged that police made arrests in connection with the case, with efforts underway to apprehend additional suspects involved in the illicit operation.

He claimed that schoolchildren received Rs 200 each to provide their fingerprints, further complicating the authenticity of the cards.
Dewasi emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into all Aadhaar card centers situated in border areas. He also urged the state government to establish a specialized team to delve into the matter, emphasizing the severe national security implications posed by such fraudulent activities.
Minister Jogaram Patel assured the Assembly that the investigation into the fake Aadhar card case is currently ongoing, underscoring the government’s commitment to unraveling the full extent of the scam.
Further assuring the attendees, he said that government will take strict action against the culprits and E-mitra operators shall come under radar. Minister also affirmed of thorough investigation into Aadhar cards made till now.
