Rajasthan Child Assault Case: CCTV Footage Emerges As Key Lead

A shocking crime involving a five-year-old girl has triggered widespread outrage in the Tehla region of Rajasthan, prompting senior police officials to launch an intensive investigation and manhunt for the accused.

District Superintendent of Police Sudhir Choudhary has taken direct charge of monitoring the case. Range Inspector General Rahul Prakash personally visited the crime scene to review the investigation.

Police teams have detained several individuals for questioning and intensified efforts to identify and apprehend the main suspect.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the incident occurred on June 24. He was working at a local hotel when his wife informed him about the attack. He immediately returned home and found the child injured.

Police said the child informed her family that an unidentified man allegedly took her away on a motorcycle and assaulted her at a secluded location.

Acting on the information provided by the family, officers reached the site and discovered tyre impressions and footprints that could assist the investigation.

Authorities shifted the child to a nearby hospital for medical treatment before formally registering the case.

Police secured the area and called forensic experts to collect evidence. Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory, Mobile Forensic Unit and a dog squad examined the location.

Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the suspect’s movements.

Preliminary findings indicate that a security camera captured a man travelling with the child on a two-wheeler.

Investigators are treating the footage as a crucial lead in identifying the accused.

Police have registered a case under the provisions of the POCSO Act.

The incident sparked anger among residents, who staged protests outside the Tehla police station and demanded swift action.

Opposition Leader Tika Ram Jully also condemned the incident and raised concerns regarding child safety and law and order in the state.

Multiple police teams continue raids across the region to locate the suspect.
