Nearly a month after stepping down from his ministerial role, Rajasthan BJP leader Kirodi Lal Meena has shed light on his resignation, citing a lack of attention from the people he served for 45 years. Speaking at an event marking World Tribal Day in Dausa on Friday, Meena expressed frustration over being ignored by those he has dedicated his career to helping.
In his address, Meena strongly rejected rumors about potential changes to the reservation system, asserting that he would not allow any alterations to it. “I promise you that I will remain dedicated to my society on this matter,” he stated.

Responding to recent Supreme Court comments regarding the “creamy layer” within Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), Meena emphasized the need to understand the court’s stance. He explained that the Supreme Court’s intention is to address concerns that some individuals are benefiting disproportionately from reservations, while others who are genuinely deprived are left without support. “In such a situation, our own deprived brothers should also get the right to reservation,” he said.
Meena warned the public to be wary of misinformation and assured them of his commitment to protecting their rights. “People will come to mislead you, be cautious of them. I assure you to protect your rights. I will not let you suffer any loss,” he promised.
Last month, Meena resigned from his ministerial position, citing an electoral commitment to step down if he failed to secure victories in any of the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in eastern Rajasthan that were assigned to him.
