Pulwama Martyrs’ Sacrifice Will Never Be Forgotten: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the memory of the 40 CRPF personnel, martyred in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, reflecting on their sacrifice and dedication to the nation.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Homage to the courageous heroes we lost in Pulwama in 2019. The coming generations will never forget their sacrifice and their unwavering dedication to the nation.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also honored the martyrs. He condemned the attack as a ‘cowardly act of terrorism’.

“On behalf of the grateful nation, I pay my heartfelt tribute to the soldiers martyred in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pulwama on this day in the year 2019,” Shah posted on X.

He further added, “Terrorism is the biggest enemy of the entire human race, and the whole world has united against it. Be it a surgical strike or an airstrike, the Modi government is determined to completely destroy the terrorists by running a campaign with a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against them.”

Additionally, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to the soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack, stating on social media that their sacrifice inspires a united fight against terrorism.

“Heartfelt tribute and salute to all the immortal brave soldiers martyred in the cowardly terrorist attack in Pulwama! The sacrifice of the brave sons of Mother India inspires us to fight unitedly against terrorism. Jai Hind,” CM Yogi Adityanath posted on X.

2019 Pulwama Attack

The Pulwama attack, carried out on 14 February 2019, involved a suicide bomber who rammed an IED-laden vehicle into a CRPF convoy, killing 40 personnel.

In response, the Indian Air Force launched airstrikes on 26 February, targeting Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps in Pakistan’s Balakot.

The next day, an aerial engagement took place, during which Pakistan shot down IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s MiG-21 Bison and captured him. Pakistan later released him.

The Pulwama attack remains one of the deadliest terror incidents in India, with the nation continuing to honor the bravery and sacrifice of its fallen soldiers.
