Proud Milestone: BJP Applauds PM Modi’s Longest-Serving Government Leadership Record

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become India’s longest-serving head of government, prompting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to describe the feat as a moment of national pride.

The milestone follows his surpassing of former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling’s record of 8,930 days.

PM Modi has now entered his 8,932nd day in the executive office, spanning his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and later as Prime Minister.

BJP leaders widely praised his journey and governance. MP Nishikant Dubey underscored Prime Minister Modi’s modest beginnings, recalling his early life assisting his father at Vadnagar railway station.

He credited PM Modi for articulating the ‘Gujarat Model’ and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

MP Shashank Mani emphasised that the Prime Minister’s guidance and conduct continue to inspire citizens.

Rajya Sabha MP Sikander Kumar lauded the Prime Minister’s contributions to social welfare and governance.

MP Damodar Agarwal described him as a widely admired leader who consistently establishes new benchmarks.

BJP MP V D Sharma highlighted that PM Modi’s prolonged tenure reflects dedicated service to 1.4 billion Indians.

Prime Minister Modi governed Gujarat from October 2001 until May 2014 before assuming national leadership. He also holds the distinction of being India’s first Prime Minister born after Independence.

Additionally, he ranks as the third-longest-serving Prime Minister, following Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.

In October 2025, Modi completed 25 years in public office as head of government, reinforcing his enduring political presence and administrative legacy.
