Priyanka Gandhi Joins Rahul In Bihar’s Voter Rights Yatra

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will join Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Supaul, Bihar, on Tuesday as part of the ongoing Voter Adhikar Yatra.

The initiative, led by the Congress and INDIA bloc allies, aims to highlight electoral rights and raise concerns over alleged vote suppression in the state.

Rahul Gandhi is set to begin the Yatra at 8:00 AM from Hussain Chowk in Supaul city.

The convoy will pass through Mahavir Chowk, Gandhi Maidan, and Lohia Nagar Chowk before concluding at Degree College Chowk.

Thousands of party workers and supporters from neighbouring districts, including Saharsa and Madhepura, will join the march.

The Supaul leg of the campaign will also witness the participation of Tejashwi Yadav, Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, and Mukesh Sahni, chief of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).

Their presence reflects the INDIA bloc’s united effort to challenge the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the run-up to the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

AICC General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal confirmed that Priyanka Gandhi will be in Bihar on 26 and 27 August.

On Tuesday, she will participate in the Yatra alongside Rahul Gandhi in Supaul. On Wednesday, she will visit the Janaki Temple in Sitamarhi to offer prayers, underscoring the Congress’s bid to balance political outreach with cultural symbolism.

Campaign Highlights & Public Engagements

The Voter Adhikar Yatra began earlier this month and has already travelled through several key districts of Bihar.

On Sunday, Rahul Gandhi attracted widespread attention during the Seemanchal leg by riding a Royal Enfield motorcycle for two kilometres, with Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Rajesh Ram as his pillion rider.

In another gesture of local connect, Rahul Gandhi stopped at a roadside dhaba near Jalalgarh on the Purnea-Araria route, where he interacted with locals over tea, reinforcing the campaign’s grassroots appeal.

The Congress-led campaign brands the Yatra as a ‘battle to protect electoral rights’, stressing the importance of democratic accountability. By raising issues of voter suppression, the party seeks to galvanise public opinion while energising its support base in Bihar.

With both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi actively participating, and key INDIA bloc leaders joining the effort, the Yatra is emerging as a strategic show of strength against the NDA.

It also sets the stage for a broader mobilisation as Bihar gears up for a high-stakes electoral contest in 2025.
