On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated India’s commitment to wildlife conservation following the designation of Madhav Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh as the country’s 58th Tiger Reserve.
The reserve, now the ninth in Madhya Pradesh, marks another milestone in India’s ongoing conservation efforts.
Sharing the news on social media, PM Modi highlighted the nation’s deep-rooted cultural respect for wildlife.
Taking to X, the Prime Minister posted, “Amazing news for wildlife lovers! India is blessed with wildlife diversity and a culture that celebrates wildlife. We will always be at the forefront of protecting animals and contributing to a sustainable planet.”
Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav also welcomed the announcement, calling it the ’58th roar and counting!’ while commending the dedication of forest officials.
Taking to X, Bhupender Yadav posted, “Thrilled to announce that the country has added the 58th Tiger Reserve to its tally with the latest entrant being Madhya Pradesh’s Madhav Tiger Reserve. This is MP’s 9th Tiger Reserve.”
“I congratulate all wildlife lovers and conservationists. The development is a testament to the relentless efforts of our forest officials who are selflessly working towards the cause,” he further added.
Earlier this month, PM Modi marked World Wildlife Day with a lion safari at Gujarat’s Gir National Park.
During his visit, he introduced the ‘Bruhad Gir’ concept, extending conservation efforts across a 30,000 sq km area from Barda to Botad, ensuring both wildlife protection and local community development.
