President Murmu, PM Modi Pay Floral Tributes To Dr Ambedkar In Parliament

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other top leaders paid floral tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar at Prerna Sthal in the Parliament complex on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, marking his 134th birth anniversary.

Leaders Gather At Parliament To Honor Architect of the Constitution

Prominent dignitaries, including Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, joined the ceremony to honor Babasaheb Ambedkar’s enduring legacy.

Buddhist monks were also present, and the leaders sought their blessings after offering flowers.

Born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Dr Ambedkar was a renowned jurist, economist, social reformer, and political visionary.

He chaired the drafting committee of the Indian Constitution and later served as India’s first Law and Justice Minister under Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

President Murmu Calls Ambedkar A Global Inspiration

President Murmu shared a message on the social media platform X, stating, “On the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the architect of our Constitution, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens.”

She added that despite immense challenges, Ambedkar created a unique identity and earned global respect through his remarkable achievements.

PM Modi Highlights Ambedkar’s Enduring Vision

PM Narendra Modi also posted a tribute on X, expressing deep respect for Babasaheb.

“On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary. It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realising the dream of social justice today,” PM Modi noted.

The Prime Minister further emphasized that Ambedkar’s ideals will continue to energize India’s journey toward building an Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) and Viksit Bharat (developed India).

Across India, citizens observed Ambedkar Jayanti through cultural programs, educational events, and rallies.

April 14 serves as a day to remember Ambedkar’s lifelong commitment to social justice, equality, and education and his role in shaping a more inclusive and democratic India.

Dr Ambedkar’s contributions continue to inspire generations in the fight for equality, dignity, and constitutional values.
