President Murmu, PM Modi & Leaders Extend Wishes To Telangana On Statehood Day

President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in extending greetings to the people of Telangana on the occasion of Statehood Day, commemorating the formation of India’s youngest state on 2 June 2014.

Acknowledging the region’s dynamic growth and cultural depth, President Murmu took to the social media platform X to share her message.

“Warm greetings to the people of Telangana on Statehood Day! This young State has a rich cultural heritage and a vibrant modern ecosystem of economic and technological development. I wish that the people of Telangana march ahead on the path of progress and prosperity,” she posted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also marked the occasion with a warm tribute to the people of the state.

“Greetings to the wonderful people of Telangana on their Statehood Day. The state is known for making innumerable contributions to national progress. Over the last decade, the NDA Government has undertaken many measures to boost ‘Ease of Living’ for the people of the state. May the people of the state be blessed with success and prosperity,” PM Modi wrote on X.

Leaders Praise Telangana’s Cultural Identity

Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded Telangana’s distinctive cultural and social fabric.

“On Telangana Statehood Day, warm greetings to our brothers and sisters of the state. With its rich culture, heritage, and hardworking people, Telangana shines brightly on India’s ethno-cultural map. May the state reach new heights of prosperity,” he posted.

Adding to the tributes, Union Minister JP Nadda acknowledged the warmth and resilience of the people of Telangana.

“On Telangana Statehood Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all the brothers and sisters of this beautiful state. Telangana stands out for its unique culture, vibrant festivals and above all, the warmth and kindness of its people. May the state and its people continue to progress with prosperity and happiness,” he shared on X.

The central government carved Telangana out of Andhra Pradesh on 2 June 2014 after a prolonged movement demanding statehood.

The demand, rooted in aspirations for equitable development, better governance, and cultural recognition, resulted in Telangana becoming the 29th state of India.

Since its formation, Telangana has made significant strides in sectors such as IT, infrastructure, and agriculture.

As part of the Statehood Day celebrations, various cultural programmes, parades, and official ceremonies were held across the state, reflecting the pride and unity of its citizens.

As Telangana completes over a decade of existence, national leaders reaffirmed their support for its continued development and prosperity.
