President Murmu Highlights Women’s Achievements, Youth Power Ahead Of Independence Day

President Droupadi Murmu on Friday highlighted the achievements of Indian women across diverse fields and described the country’s young population as its most valuable asset in her address on the eve of Independence Day.

A recent rocket launch by a team with an average age of 28 years marked a milestone in space exploration.

President Murmu said reforms in public examinations were being undertaken to curb unfair practices and improve transparency and reliability. She further stressed physical and mental health and urged families and society to support young people.

The President said Khelo India promotes sports as a means of youth development and nation-building, with increased investment in the sports ecosystem.

President Murmu noted that around 60 million senior citizens aged 70 and above can access free healthcare of up to Rs 5 lakh annually. She further urged society to remain sensitive towards senior citizens and preserve their sense of belonging and self-respect.
