SOLDIERATHON 2026 commenced at Delhi’s Cariappa Parade Ground on Sunday, 2 August, with a strong display of patriotism and a tribute to India’s Armed Forces.
President Droupadi Murmu flagged off the marathon in the presence of Mizoram Governor General (Dr) VK Singh, the patron of the initiative.

Bharat Express News Network Chairman, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief Upendrra Rai expressed his gratitude to the President for supporting the event.
Thousands joined the marathon to honour martyrs, injured veterans and serving soldiers, making SOLDIERATHON a nationwide tribute to the courage and sacrifice of India’s Armed Forces.
President Droupadi Murmu further described SOLDIERATHON as a unique platform that strengthens the bond between citizens and the Armed Forces, saying it encourages people to stand in solidarity with India’s soldiers through active participation.
The venue echoed with patriotic slogans and the beats of traditional drums as runners carrying the Indian tricolour participated with great enthusiasm.
Organised under the theme ‘Run for Soldiers’, the event honoured the Indian Army, with Bharat Express serving as the official media sponsor.
Since its inception, CMD Upendrra Rai has actively supported SOLDIERATHON, participating in editions held in Delhi, Mumbai-Kargil and Nava Raipur while inspiring young people to honour India’s brave soldiers.

Held under the ‘Fitistan – A Fit India’ initiative, the event further brings together youth, defence personnel, veterans and eminent personalities, including former Army Chief General VK Singh.
This year’s edition featured 21-km, 10-km and 5-km races, with proceeds supporting the treatment, rehabilitation and welfare of injured Indian Army personnel.
