President Murmu Encourages Women Entrepreneurs to Recognize and Empower Fellow Enterprising Women

President Droupadi Murmu, in a meeting at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, encouraged women entrepreneurs to proactively identify and support other enterprising women in their pursuit of financial independence. She acknowledged the shared dream of many women to achieve financial autonomy but emphasized the need for guidance on the path to realizing this goal.

Engaging with a group of women founders and co-founders of prominent startups and unicorns, Murmu urged that the success of these entrepreneurs should serve as inspiration, creating a ripple effect leading to success stories emerging from all corners of the country. She called for a collective effort to build an empowered India where every woman, particularly young women, moves forward with confidence to fulfil her aspirations.

The meeting, part of the initiative “The President with the People,” aimed at establishing a deeper connection with the public and acknowledging their contributions. Murmu highlighted that these women entrepreneurs have significantly influenced the Indian business landscape, transcending traditional barriers and demonstrating the potential of Indian women in entrepreneurship.

The president emphasized that the contributions of these entrepreneurs extend beyond economic development. They have become pioneers in paving the way for future generations, breaking traditional barriers and fostering an inclusive economic future based on talent and ambition rather than gender.

She praised their instrumental role in the “Startup India” program, aimed at harnessing youth potential and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem, noting that India now boasts the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem with over 117,000 startups and more than 100 unicorns, thanks to innovative efforts like theirs.

In conclusion, Murmu commended these entrepreneurs for their invaluable contributions to the objectives of the “Startup India” program, highlighting that their journey and achievements serve as a source of inspiration, particularly for women and youth across the nation.
