President Droupadi Murmu
President Droupadi Murmu paid obeisance at the Golden Temple in Amritsar and listened to ‘kirtan’ on Thursday.
The official Twitter handle of the President of India tweeted, “President Droupadi Murmu paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib during her visit to the holy city of Amritsar. She prayed for continued development, peace and harmony in the country. The President also participated in the langar with devotees”.
She was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Harjinder Singh Dhami.
During the president’s day-long visit, strict security measures have been put in place in the city.
The Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, the Chief Minister Mann, the Union Minister Som Prakash, the Congress MP from Amritsar Gurjeet Singh Aujla, the State Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police, and the Amritsar police commissioner were among those who greeted her when she first arrived at the airport here in the afternoon.
The official Twitter handle of the President of India tweeted, “Governor of Punjab Shri Banwarilal Purohit and Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann received President Droupadi Murmu on her arrival at Amritsar”.
Moreover, the president is planning to stop by Bhagwan Valmiki Ram Tirath Sthal, Durgiana Temple, and Jallianwala Bagh.
