Very Few Knew That Satish Kaushik Wanted To Marry Pregnant Neena Gupta

Not many people know that Satish Kaushik offered to marry Neena Gupta when she was pregnant. Satish even told that, ‘Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, I will say it is my child..’

Actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik is no more. His sudden demise has left a vaccume in Bollywood that will not be easy to fill. ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ was Satish’s debut movie when he for the first time worked with Neena Gupta.  Naseeruddin Shah, Satisha Shah and Ravi Baswani were the co-stars with him in the movie.

‘Sach Kahun To’ was the autobiography of Neena Gupta which was released a couple of years ago. Neena had in the book opened up about her long friendship with Satish Kaushik. She also did not shy away from revealing that when she became pregnant with West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards’ child, it was Satish who wanted to support her emotionally during her lonely days. He even suggested her that she pass the child off as his, and for that he was ready to get married to her.

Neena writes, Satish had told her, ‘Not to worry, if the kid is born with dark skin, you can just tell people it is mine and I am ready to marry you. Nobody is going to suspect a thing.’

This was also talked about during an interview with Bombay Times, where Satish Kaushik explained the situation. He said, Neena and he had been friends for last many years since 1975, He said that only a few people knew about Neena’s pregnancy. And that was the time he offered to help since he had feeling for her and never wanted her to be alone.

The gentleman actor, Satish Kaushi was a multidynamic personality. For generations he had entertained the audience not just via his acting skills but also as a writer and director. Today on Thursday March 9, Anupam Kher, his close friend and actor Anupam Kher shared the sad news.

And very few people are aware of Satish’s friendship with Neena Gupta. Both shared a very deep friendship and were such good friends that Kaushik had even offered to marry her when the actress was pregnant with Masaba. Reminiscing the emotional moments leaves Neena to tears.
