On Thursday, President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to 17 children for their remarkable achievements in various fields.
The ceremony, held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, recognized exceptional accomplishments in various categories:
The President congratulated the award winners, expressing pride on behalf of the nation and society. She praised the children for their extraordinary achievements, limitless potential, and exceptional qualities, calling them role models for the youth of the country.
Highlighting the tradition of nurturing and recognizing children’s talents, she stressed the need to strengthen this practice.
Looking ahead to 2047, the centenary of India’s independence, the President envisioned these young awardees as enlightened citizens and key contributors to a developed India.
She further noted that their patriotism strengthens faith in the nation’s future, inspiring both the young and the old to dedicate themselves to the country’s welfare.
Additionally, President Murmu stated, “The spirit of patriotism leads children on the path of devotion to the cause of national interest. I believe that the achievements of children like now will take India to the pinnacle of progress. It has been a part of our tradition to give opportunities to the talent of children and to respect it. This tradition should be strengthened.”
In a parallel event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking on ‘Veer Baal Diwas’, praised the courage and sacrifice of the Sahibzades, calling them the foundation of India’s resilient democracy.
“Sahibzades’ courage and sacrifice are the pillars behind India’s strong democracy that India is proud of today,” he said. Today, we are participating in the program of the third Veer Baal Diwas. Our government started celebrating this day to commemorate the valour and sacrifices of the Sahibzades,” PM Modi asserted.
