President Murmu takes Metro ride
Metro is a common people’s commute in the Delhi NCR region. This efficient and effective network of local trains has never failed to impress the people in the region. People’s leader, President Droupadi Murmu took a ride in Delhi Metro on Wednesday. The President boarded the Metro train at the Central Secretariat Metro station. She travelled on the Kashmere Gate – Raja Nahar Singh Violet Line corridor, up to the Nehru Place Metro station and then came back to Central Secretariat. All the arrangements for the safety of the President were made properly so that there is no mishap on the spot.
During her journey, the President interacted with school students. The President also asked the students about their future career goals. President Murmu travelled on the metro using an NCMC RuPay card. The card allows easy access to Delhi Metro as the entry and exit becomes relatively quick and effortless. Just a tap on the entry and exit can get the work done.

The President also flagged off shuttle bus service between Central Secretariat Metro Station, gate number- 4 and Amrit Udyan, gate number 35, for visitors coming to Amrit Udyan. Amrit Udyan is an immensely beautiful garden in Delhi that opens only for a limited period. Its botanical beauty is definitely worth a visit. One can see different variety of flowers all together at one place blooming in their best ways.
President Murmu is the second serving President of India to travel by the Delhi Metro. The then President Pratibha Patil had also travelled on the Delhi Metro back in 2012. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has travelled twice by Delhi Metro.
