Prayagraj: Panic gripped after dispute arose between two district panchayat members over a property dispute ,which took an ugly turn and cross firing took place between the groups in which two persons sustained serious bullet where one of them were declared brought dead.
On receiving the information, police officers reached the spot. They took information about the incident from the villagers. After that three people were taken into custody. In view of the tension, force has been deployed in the village. The incident took place on Tuesday in the Bahria area of Gangapar.
It is reported that a ongoing property dispute between Zila Panchayat member Abhishek Yadav and Zila Panchayat member Shashikant Yadav arose over a housesituated in Dhammaur village of Bahria police station area. It is in the middle of the market, which is said to be worth 50 lakhs property. On Tuesday noon , both the parties came face to face over the possession of the house. After this, there was abuse from both the sides. After that, sticks were used fiercely from both the sides. Then firing started from both the sides.
Alok Yadav (26) of Sari Patti Baharia and Jitendra Yadav of Abhaypur were both injured in the firing. Both were taken to the hospital. Alok Yadav died. He was the driver of Zila Panchayat member Shashikant Yadav.
Receiving the information , DCP Abhishek Bharti reached the spot and gathered information from the local residents. Police have detained 3 people from both the sides.
Heavy police force has been deployed in the village to avoid any untoward incident.
