Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya attended the mega conclave organised by Bharat Express News Network on Friday in Prayagraj. Bharat Express CMD Upendra Rai warmly welcomed the Deputy CM. During their conversation, he briefly discussed the preparations being held there.
On being asked about the development of Prayagraj, the Deputy CM said, “Development is taking place in the whole of India and the entire Uttar Pradesh, but we are witnesses to the development of Teerthraj Prayagraj.”
“Since the formation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in 2014, and then our government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, the picture and fate of Prayagraj have changed”, he further added.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya discussed the safety measures at the mega-event. Following this, he said, “PM Modi and CM Yogi ensured the safety of citizens in the country and the state.” He elaborated on how the state government has worked for the betterment of Prayagraj, adding, “Govt has developed many holy places in Prayagraj for pilgrims.”
Talking about the facilities and arrangements for the Kumbh Mela at the Bharat Express Conclave, Deputy CM Prasad called out at Samajwadi Party. He said, “If the biggest chaos in the history of Kumbh has ever happened, it happened in 2013 when Akhilesh Yadav was in power.”
“At that time, our pilgrims and revered saints were coming to take the Kumbh bath, due to lack of coordination, Akhilesh Yadav had handed over the responsibility of the fair to his uncle Azam Khan”, he added. Prasad also said that when the main bathing festivals of Kumbh were to be held, Akhilesh Yadav concentrated on raising money for Jauhar University, causing the Kumbh to become ‘chaotic.’
Deputy CM also highlighted the impact of Maha Kumbh Mela on the economy of the country. Prasad added, “The Kumbh is expected to contribute ₹2 lakh crore to Uttar Pradesh’s economy.”
He also stated that the government has experience managing 24 crore devotees during the Ardh Kumbh. Also, “There will be no VIP movement in the Kumbh area”, Deputy CM added. On being asked about the claim of Kumbh land as Waqf Board’s property, Keshav Prasad Maurya responded, “Kumbh is older than Islam itself.”
Bharat Express CMD Upendrra Rai proposed a question to Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on India’s bid to host the Olympics. In response to Rai’s question, Keshav Prasad said, “Prayagraj alone can organize 10 Olympics.”
Putting an end to the conversation, Keshav also said that there would be no VIP movement in the Kumbh area. Apart from this, the devotees can visit Nishadraj Dham and other religious places nearby Prayagraj, added Deputy CM.
