CM Yogi Adityanath has recognized the dedication and hard work of the 75,000 police and security personnel who played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh in 2025.

During the closing ceremony of the event, CM Yogi unveiled several rewards for the personnel, including the prestigious Maha Kumbh Seva Medal, a ₹10,000 special bonus for non-gazetted officers, and a one-week phased leave for all policemen who contributed to the event’s seamless execution.

Praising Dedication & Patience

At a special gathering held in Ganga Mandapam, CM Yogi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the police personnel for their exemplary service throughout the duration of the Maha Kumbh.

He praised their remarkable discipline, patience, and tolerance in handling numerous challenges, including managing large crowds and dealing with unforeseen incidents.

CM Yogi acknowledged that the police force’s ability to maintain order and peace despite high-pressure situations was truly commendable.

“Only those who participated in the Maha Kumbh can understand its scale; it’s easy to criticize from afar,” he remarked, addressing the critics of the event.

His statement underscored the immense scale of the event and the role the police played in its successful execution.

Maha Kumbh’s Unprecedented Success

CM Yogi attributed the success of the Maha Kumbh to the collective efforts of the Uttar Pradesh government and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He emphasized that the event became a model of integration between faith and economic progress.

The UP government invested ₹7,000 crore in the infrastructure and management of the event, resulting in an unprecedented economic boost of ₹3.5 lakh crore for the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted the global recognition the event received, not only for its cultural significance but also for its economic impact.

He further noted that the police personnel received widespread national and international praise for their conduct, which included exceptional crowd management, efficient security, and swift emergency responses during unforeseen incidents.

Police Reforms & Future Plans

Reflecting on the progress made in Uttar Pradesh’s police reforms, CM Yogi outlined significant improvements since he assumed office in 2017.

He highlighted the state’s increased investment in police infrastructure, including the construction of new police barracks, and the recruitment of over 1.56 lakh new police personnel.

The budget for UP Police has now increased to ₹40,000 crore. The state government is also in the process of recruiting an additional 60,000 police personnel, with plans to recruit another 30,000 in the near future.

CM Yogi assured continued efforts to improve the working conditions of the police force, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to continue serving the state effectively.

A Personal Gesture Of Gratitude

At the end of the event, CM Yogi shared a meal with the police personnel, further acknowledging their dedication and the unforgettable role they played in ensuring the safety and success of the Maha Kumbh.

He emphasized that the police force’s contributions would always be remembered as a pivotal part of the historic event.

The Chief Minister concluded his speech by reiterating the vital role the police continue to play in maintaining law and order in the state, assuring that their service and commitment would never go unnoticed.

With the conclusion of the event, CM Yogi’s heartfelt recognition and promises of further reforms cemented the Uttar Pradesh Police’s status as a key pillar in the state’s security infrastructure, ensuring that the forces will continue to thrive and evolve to meet the challenges of the future.
