PM Narendra Modi To Release 22nd Instalment Of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd instalment of the government’s flagship farmer support programme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan), on Friday.

During a programme in Guwahati, the Prime Minister will transfer more than ₹18,640 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore farmer families across the country through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.

The initiative reflects the government’s continued efforts to provide financial support and stability to farmers across India. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the scheme demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting the country’s ‘annadatas’.

Since the launch of the PM-Kisan scheme in February 2019, the Centre has transferred over ₹4.09 lakh crore directly to farmers’ bank accounts.

With the release of the 22nd instalment, the total disbursement under the programme will exceed ₹4.27 lakh crore.

Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments.

The funds are credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer system, ensuring transparency and eliminating intermediaries.

Officials said the financial assistance helps farmers meet agricultural expenses such as seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other farming inputs required for cultivation.

The support also assists families in managing household needs, including education and healthcare.

Chouhan added that more than 2.15 crore women farmers will benefit from the upcoming instalment. He noted that the scheme has strengthened the rural economy by reducing farmers’ dependence on loans and encouraging greater investment in agriculture.

The PM-Kisan initiative continues to play a key role in providing financial security to millions of farmers while supporting agricultural productivity across the country.
