PM Narendra Modi To Announce Rs 1.22 Lakh Crore Investment Package For Rajasthan Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday unveil an extensive investment package for Rajasthan, timed with the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Addressing a gathering in Banswara, he will both inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 1,22,670 crore.

Of this amount, initiatives worth around Rs 1,08,468 crore are earmarked for Rajasthan itself.

At the forefront is the Rs 42,000 crore Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project, set to become the state’s second nuclear facility.

In line with the Panchamrit Action Plan, the Prime Minister will also announce renewable energy and transmission works valued at Rs 63,683 crore.

These include seven solar parks with an outlay of Rs 14,445 crore, along with transmission systems worth Rs 13,183 crore to evacuate electricity from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone’s fourth and fifth phases.

With a combined generation capacity of 9.6 GW spread across five states, these undertakings are likely to provide a major boost to India’s clean energy expansion.

The Prime Minister will further launch water management projects worth Rs 20,833 crore, including the Ram Jal Setu Link, the Mor Sagar reservoir in Ajmer, and the Brahmani Barrage in Chittorgarh.

Transport upgrades feature as well, with road schemes of Rs 2,636 crore, while drinking water investments worth nearly Rs 5,884 crore aim to improve access in both rural and urban districts.

The package also addresses social infrastructure. Bharatpur will see the addition of a 250-bed RBM Hospital costing Rs 128 crore, while Jaipur will gain a new IT Development and e-Governance Centre worth Rs 140 crore.

In Makrana (Nagaur) and Mandawa (Jhunjhunu), sewerage and water supply improvements worth Rs 226 crore are being introduced.

Rail Connectivity Boost

The Prime Minister will further enhance connectivity by flagging off three new trains via video conference. These include:

  • The Bikaner–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express,
  • The Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, and
  • The Udaipur City–Chandigarh Express

Employment is also a central focus, with appointment letters handed to 15,000 recruits in Rajasthan.

These include 5,778 animal attendants, 4,197 junior assistants, 1,800 junior instructors, 1,464 junior engineers, 1,200 third-grade teachers, in addition to other roles and compassionate appointments.

The package combines initiatives in power, water, healthcare, education, connectivity, and jobs, marking a transformative step towards inclusive growth and greater self-reliance in Rajasthan.
