PM Narendra Modi Praises Massive Turnout At Purulia Rally Ahead Of Polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the large turnout at his rally in Purulia, where supporters gathered in large numbers despite the scorching afternoon heat ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled for April 23 and April 29.

The Prime Minister arrived at the public meeting as crowds, who had waited for hours under the blazing sun, greeted him.

Sharing visuals on the social media platform X, PM Modi highlighted the high energy among attendees, noting that the footage was captured near the helipad. He also mentioned that the visit included an impromptu roadshow followed by a packed rally, underscoring the scale of public participation in the region.

The rally witnessed visible displays of support, with some attendees preparing paintings as gifts for the Prime Minister.

One such artwork portrayed Prime Minister Modi alongside his mother, Heeraben Modi, created over several nights following the announcement of his visit.

Supporters expressed optimism about the prospects of the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal, linking their confidence to what they described as strong public backing.

Some attendees also voiced concerns over women’s safety under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress government. Others raised issues related to development and employment, alleging that the state administration had fallen short over the past 15 years and pointing to corruption as a key concern.

The rally forms part of the BJP’s intensified campaign efforts in West Bengal as the State heads toward a crucial electoral contest.
