Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended his heartfelt birthday wishes to External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar, commending his unwavering dedication to strengthening India’s foreign relations.
In a message shared on social media, PM Modi expressed his admiration for Jaishankar’s tireless service to the country.
PM Modi took to the social media platform X to convey his wishes, stating, “Birthday wishes to EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar Ji. He has diligently served the nation and worked towards strengthening our foreign relations. I pray that he is blessed with a long and healthy life.” The Prime Minister’s message highlights Jaishankar’s significant role in shaping and advancing India’s diplomatic ties.
In response to PM Modi’s kind wishes, EAM Jaishankar expressed his gratitude and humility. He shared a post on X, saying, “Thank you, PM Narendra Modi, for your good wishes. It’s a great privilege to be a member of your team.” Jaishankar’s response reflects his deep respect for the Prime Minister and his commitment to serving the nation.
S. Jaishankar has served as India’s External Affairs Minister since May 30, 2019, and is a Member of the Rajya Sabha, representing the state of Gujarat. With a long and distinguished career in diplomacy, he has held several important positions, including serving as India’s Foreign Secretary from 2015 to 2018.
Jaishankar has also been India’s Ambassador to the United States (2013–2015), China (2009–2013), and the Czech Republic (2000–2004). In addition, he served as India’s High Commissioner to Singapore (2007–2009) and has had significant diplomatic assignments in Moscow, Colombo, Budapest, and Tokyo.
Meanwhile, as India’s External Affairs Minister, Jaishankar continues to play a vital role in shaping the nation’s foreign policy initiatives. His leadership has been pivotal in strengthening India’s global presence and fostering strategic relationships with countries worldwide.
