PM Narendra Modi fulfilled a 14-year-old wish of Rampal Kashyap by gifting him a pair of shoes on April 11.
Kashyap, a devoted supporter from Haryana, had walked barefoot for over a decade, vowing to wear shoes only after meeting Prime Minister Modi in person.
The emotional meeting marked the first time Kashyap wore footwear in 14 years, symbolising the human connection PM Modi often establishes with citizens.
In March, PM Modi met a fan in Surat who had painted an artwork depicting the Prime Minister with his late mother, Heeraben Modi.
Touched by the sentiment, Prime Minister signed the painting, leaving the man visibly emotional. The moment once again reflected PM Modi’s tendency to acknowledge the sentiments of ordinary citizens with grace.
On April 1, Prime Minister Modi participated in the Navkar Mahamantra Divas in Delhi and walked barefoot through the venue as a mark of spiritual respect.
He also chose to sit among the attendees, declining the dais typically reserved for dignitaries. The gesture highlighted his humility and commitment to connect with people on a personal level.
During Pongal celebrations at Union Minister L Murugan’s residence in January 2024, PM Modi appreciated a young girl’s performance by gifting her his shawl.
After the girl touched his feet in a traditional gesture of respect, PM Modi reciprocated with a heartfelt and spontaneous act, further strengthening his connection with younger generations.
In May 2024, amidst the intensity of the Lok Sabha election campaign, PM Modi paused a rally in Telangana to ensure a group of specially abled women could move to the front.
Before beginning his speech, he asked the crowd to clear the way and personally ensured the women had a place of prominence—an act widely praised for its compassion and inclusivity.
In November 2023, during the Seva Pakhwada initiative, Prime Minister personally honored sanitation workers by gifting them shawls and washing their feet—echoing his similar gesture at the Kumbh Mela in 2019.
In January 2024, following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Modi showered flower petals on the temple’s construction workers in gratitude for their contributions.
During the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, PM Modi wrote personal letters to frontline workers and families of Covid martyrs.
The heartfelt notes offered condolences, acknowledged sacrifices, and provided comfort to grieving families.
Many recipients later shared how deeply touched they were by the Prime Minister’s outreach during a time of national crisis.
Through these consistent, human-centric interactions, PM Modi reinforces his self-proclaimed identity as a Pradhan Sevak—a servant of the people—rather than a distant political figure.
His gestures of humility, reverence, and empathy cut across religious, cultural, and social lines, helping create an image of leadership rooted in personal connection and public service.
