PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Earns ₹34.13 Crore; Boosts AIR’s Revenue Prospects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat has generated revenue of ₹34.13 crore since its launch, the government informed the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

The strong revenue numbers highlight the PM’s mass connect and reinforce the popularity and financial viability of the radio broadcast. The programme has also improved the outlook for All India Radio (AIR), which has been struggling to maintain profitability.

In a written reply, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, L Murugan, said that audiences in metro cities and remote villages tune into Mann Ki Baat through various traditional and digital platforms.

Akashvani (AIR) airs the monthly radio show across national and regional networks in several regional languages to reach vernacular listeners.

Mann Ki Baat has become a unique medium to inform citizens about positive changes taking place across India. The show encourages people to participate in the country’s development journey.

PM Modi shares inspiring stories in sectors like education, health, innovation, environment, and social service. He often highlights grassroots efforts by youth, women, farmers, artisans, entrepreneurs, and self-help groups. The programme also honours unsung heroes from India’s history.

The show is telecast on Doordarshan’s national and regional channels, making it accessible even in rural and remote areas. On digital platforms, Mann Ki Baat has seen major growth in audience engagement.

It is live-streamed and archived on YouTube channels of PMO India, AIR, and others. It is also available on Prasar Bharati’s OTT platform WAVES and the ‘NewsOnAIR’ mobile app, which features over 260 Akashvani channels.

The visual version of Mann Ki Baat has added to audience engagement, offering shared viewing experiences and encouraging public dialogue.
