Dalai Lama, Acharya Lokesh, Malala Yousafzai To Receive International Peace Prize

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Jain Acharya Lokesh, founder of the Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti World Peace Centre, and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai are set to be honoured with the prestigious International Peace Prize.

The award recognises their tireless efforts to foster peace, harmony, and non-violence in a world grappling with war, violence, and the nuclear threat.

Senior political leader Kapil Mishra also extended his heartfelt congratulations to Acharya Lokesh on receiving the International Peace Prize. He praised Acharya Lokesh’s unwavering commitment to promoting non-violence, peace, and interfaith harmony, calling him a true ambassador of India’s rich spiritual heritage.

Mishra emphasised that such global recognition not only honours Acharya Lokesh’s lifelong efforts but also shines a spotlight on India’s role in advocating for world peace and nuclear disarmament.

He expressed hope that this accolade would inspire more leaders and citizens to work tirelessly towards a peaceful and harmonious world.

The prize will awarded at the ‘International March for Nuclear Disarmament and a Peaceful World’ scheduled for 9 August 2025 at Hyde Park, London.

The International Council of Jurists is organising the event, and its president and convener, Dr Adish, will personally confer the honours.

Acharya Lokesh’s Lifelong Commitment to Peace

Jain Acharya Lokesh has earned international acclaim for his lifelong dedication to world peace, non-violence, and fostering inter-religious harmony.

Invited by the International Council of Jurists, he will receive the accolade in recognition of his efforts to promote global disarmament and unity among diverse faiths.

Before he departed for London, Acharya Lokesh addressed a gathering at the World Peace Centre, emphasising the urgent need to renounce nuclear weapons, war, and violence. He called upon national leaders, spiritual figures, and social workers worldwide to unite in the mission for peace.

The ceremony has garnered support from senior members of the Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, including Senior Vice President Mr Ramesh Tiwari, Mr Hitesh Jain, Mrs Kenu Aggarwal, Ms Tarakeshwari Mishra, Yogacharya Karan, Yogacharya Devchandra, Vineet Kumar, Dayaram, and many others who extended their best wishes to Acharyashri.

This International Peace Prize highlights the essential role played by spiritual and social leaders in countering the threats posed by global conflict and nuclear armament. It underlines the collective responsibility of humanity to foster dialogue, understanding, and peaceful coexistence.

The recognition of these distinguished individuals at a high-profile international event is, however, expected to inspire renewed efforts towards disarmament and world peace. Their exemplary lives serve as a beacon of hope and a call to action in an increasingly turbulent global landscape.
