PM Modi: World Recognises ‘Unstoppable India’ As A Trusted Global Partner

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the NDTV World Summit 2025 in New Delhi on Friday, declared that India has overcome the challenges that once placed it among the ‘fragile five’ economies and is now firmly positioned among the world’s top five. He predicted that India would soon emerge as the third-largest economy.

Extending Diwali greetings at the start of his speech, the Prime Minister reflected on India’s transformation since 2014.

“Before 2014, the talk was about how India would survive global headwinds. Today, the world respects India for defying all odds,” he said.

PM Modi recalled a period of ‘policy paralysis’ before his government took charge, noting how India has since adopted bold reforms to revive growth and global confidence.

“India took on every challenge and turned adversity into opportunity,” he said, underlining that the theme of the summit, Unstoppable India, aptly reflected the nation’s current momentum.

He highlighted India’s consistent GDP growth rate of 7.8 per cent and a 7 per cent rise in merchandise exports in September, reaching $36.38 billion despite global trade tensions.

India as a Global Innovation and Investment Hub

Praising India’s growing influence in technology, PM Modi cited Google’s recent $15 billion investment to transform the country into a global hub for artificial intelligence (AI).

The Prime Minister also noted that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had revised India’s growth outlook upward and that Standard & Poor’s (S&P) had upgraded the nation’s credit rating for the first time in 17 years.

“Massive investments are coming into green energy and semiconductors. The UK Prime Minister’s visit with his largest-ever trade delegation shows how the world sees opportunity in India,” he remarked.

Highlighting India’s dominance in digital transactions, the Prime Minister said, “Half of the world’s digital payments take place in India through UPI. We have proved every prediction wrong. This is India’s moment.”

He concluded by asserting that the world now views India as a ‘responsible, reliable, and indispensable partner’ in shaping global progress.
