PM Modi Welcomes First Phase Of Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan; Hails Netanyahu’s Leadership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his support for the agreement reached on the first phase of President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan.

He described the step as reflective of the ‘strong leadership’ of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a post on his verified X account, PM Modi said he hoped the agreement would lead to the release of hostages and enhanced humanitarian assistance for people in Gaza, thereby paving the way for lasting peace.

PM Modi underscored the importance of swift action to relieve suffering in the conflict zone. He emphasised that the release of hostages and greater humanitarian support must go hand in hand. He said these measures would offer much-needed respite to people caught in the crisis.

His message aligns with global calls for coordinated efforts to protect civilians and restore stability in the region.

By welcoming the agreement, PM Modi placed India alongside other nations endorsing diplomatic overtures to de-escalate violence.

He recognised the central role played by Israeli leadership in forging the deal, signalling India’s backing of responsible statecraft in conflict resolution.
