PM Modi Welcomes 2026 With Message Of Hope, Harmony And Progress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the beginning of 2026 by extending warm New Year greetings to citizens across the country, expressing hope for peace, good health and prosperity in society.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wished people success in their endeavours and fulfilment in the year ahead, while praying for harmony and happiness nationwide.

His message resonated widely as India ushered in the New Year with celebrations across cities and towns, reflecting optimism and renewed hope.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also conveyed her New Year wishes, calling the occasion a symbol of new beginnings and positive energy.

She expressed hope that the year would bring happiness, prosperity and good health to citizens, particularly the people of Delhi.

Emphasising governance and public participation, the Chief Minister said the New Year offered an opportunity to strengthen collective responsibility in building an inclusive and prosperous capital.

She reaffirmed her government’s commitment to public welfare and development, promising to pursue these goals with greater resolve in the coming year.

Nationwide Celebrations Welcome the New Year

India welcomed 2026 with grand celebrations, countdown events and festive gatherings across states.

Major metropolitan centres such as Delhi and Mumbai witnessed large crowds at popular landmarks, including India Gate, Connaught Place and Marine Drive, as people gathered to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.

The vibrant scenes reflected a festive spirit, with families, tourists and young revellers participating in celebrations that extended well into the night.

To ensure the smooth conduct of festivities, authorities across the country stepped up security arrangements and issued traffic advisories.

Additional police personnel were deployed in high-footfall areas, while guidelines were circulated for restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues.

Officials said the measures aimed to maintain public safety and prevent untoward incidents, allowing citizens to celebrate the New Year in a secure and orderly manner.
