PM Modi Vows Stern Response To J&K Terror Attacks: ‘Won’t Hesitate To Teach A Lesson’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern statement on Thursday addressing the recent string of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking to a gathering in Srinagar, he assured the public that peace would be established in the region and that preparations were underway to ensure the smooth conduct of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi emphasized that the “enemies” of peace and humanity oppose progress in Jammu and Kashmir. He reassured the public that the central government has taken the recent surge of terror attacks in the union territory very seriously. Addressing the event in Srinagar, PM Modi stated, “The enemies of peace and humanity don’t like development. Today, they are making their last efforts to halt progress in Jammu and Kashmir and prevent peace from being established. The government has taken the recent terror attacks very seriously. The Union Home Minister (Amit Shah) has chaired a meeting with the officials of Jammu and Kashmir to review them.”

The prime minister also highlighted that the Union Home Ministry has reviewed the security and law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with the local administration. Issuing a stern warning regarding the terror attacks, PM Modi declared, “I assure you that we will not hesitate to teach a lesson to the enemies of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He also expressed optimism for the future, stating that people would live in peace. “The new generation of Jammu and Kashmir will live with permanent peace. We will strengthen the path of development that Jammu and Kashmir has chosen.”

PM Modi’s strong remarks were made during the Empowering Youth, Transforming Jammu and Kashmir Programme, part of his two-day visit to the region. On Friday, he is scheduled to participate in the International Yoga Day event in Srinagar.

Since June 9, there have been terror strikes at four locations in Jammu and Kashmir—Reasi, Kathua, and Doda—resulting in the deaths of nine pilgrims, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, the injury of a civilian, and injuries to at least seven security personnel.
