PM Modi Visits Rain Forest; Vaman Vriksha Vatika At Ekta Nagar On Sardar Patel’s Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Rain Forest and Vaman Vriksha Vatika in Gujarat’s Ekta Nagar on Saturday. The visit formed part of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 151st birth anniversary.

Earlier, PM Modi paid floral tributes to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity. He inaugurated 23 projects and launched eight more. Together, these 31 tourism and infrastructure projects involve an investment of Rs 426.71 crore.

The government has developed the Rain Forest as a new attraction near the Statue of Unity. Spread across 12 acres, it recreates a rainforest environment with artificial rainfall throughout the year.

The facility features 20 rain-gun towers, waterfalls, bubble fountains and landscaped greenery. It also houses trees representing different regions of India.

A circular glass skywalk serves as its main attraction. It uses 132 panels of 35-mm-thick glass and allows visitors to walk above the forest landscape. The facility introduces visitors to biodiversity and diverse forest ecosystems.

The Gujarat government developed the Rain Forest for Rs 14.30 crore. PM Modi also visited Vaman Vriksha Vatika, another nature-themed attraction in Ekta Nagar’s tourism circuit.

The inaugurated projects include a Rs 50-crore IRCTC hotel, a Rs 16-crore Ekta Cruise and a Rs 3.67-crore Eco Trail.

The eight projects include Gora-Bhanadra Road, a smart zero-waste management facility, Khalwani Eco-Tourism and an integrated Cactus and Butterfly Garden.

PM Modi will attend the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas programme at around 5.30 PM. The Ekta Parade will feature CAPF contingents, state police forces and central police organisations.

The National School of Drama will present ‘Naxal Mukt Bharat’ with around 2,000 artistes from 126 Left-Wing Extremism-affected districts.

Another presentation will celebrate ‘Vande Mataram’ through tableaux and cultural performances involving around 5,000 artistes from across India.
