PM Modi Varanasi Visit: Rs 6,300 Crore Projects, Nari Shakti Event On Agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi on April 28 for a two-day programme. During the visit, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 163 development projects valued at approximately Rs 6,300 crore.

Officials confirmed that these initiatives cover infrastructure, connectivity, and public services to accelerate the city’s growth.

A major highlight includes a proposed signature bridge over the Ganga River. Authorities expect this project to enhance urban mobility and emerge as a prominent landmark.

The Prime Minister will also virtually flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting Varanasi to Pune and Ayodhya to Mumbai, strengthening long-distance rail links.

Police officials have arranged a large public programme under the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ initiative.

PM Modi will address over 50,000 women at the BLW ground. Authorities have installed water coolers and misting systems to manage heat conditions.

Security agencies have enforced strict arrangements across the city. More than 700 women police personnel have been deployed.

The security framework includes anti-drone systems, CCTV monitoring, and layered personnel deployment to ensure safety.

On the second day, the Prime Minister is likely to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for worship. Officials are also preparing for a possible 12-kilometre roadshow.

The visit holds significance for development execution and political engagement, reinforcing Varanasi’s central role in the Prime Minister’s constituency agenda.
