PM Modi Vadodara Visit: 42,000 Join Waiting List After Seats Sell Out In An Hour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming public programme in Vadodara has generated an unprecedented response.

More than 42,000 people have joined the waiting list after every available seat was booked within an hour of free registration opening on BookMyShow.

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is overseeing the registration process.

The initiative marks the first use of a private digital platform to manage public participation in a Prime Minister’s programme.

Officials closed registrations after seats were exhausted, while the waiting list continued to expand.

The programme will feature a fully digital entry and venue-management system.

Registered participants will receive M-Tickets through their BookMyShow accounts. Each ticket will carry a secure live QR code for verification.

Digital registration, authentication, venue access and seat allocation will support quicker checks and smoother crowd movement.

PM Modi will visit Gujarat and Maharashtra on September 8.

In Vadodara, the Prime Minister will lay foundation stones, inaugurate and dedicate development projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore. He will address a public gathering during the programme.

A major highlight will be the dedication of three Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) sections.

The stretches cover 326 route km and cost more than Rs 20,700 crore. Their commissioning will complete the WDFC network, strengthen freight connectivity, reduce logistics costs and ease pressure on Mumbai’s rail network.

PM Modi will flag off freight services from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT in Mumbai. He will inaugurate a new train service between Vadodara and Tanda Road.

The programme includes major railway, highway and state government projects.

PM Modi will travel to Mumbai after Vadodara to inaugurate Global Fintech Fest 2026.
