Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to citizens to remain united and patient amid global uncertainties. He stated that the continuing crisis in West Asia was having a worldwide impact, including on India.
Addressing a large gathering of BJP workers and supporters, PM Modi urged people to conserve resources and work collectively in the national interest.
Referring to the international situation, the Prime Minister stated, “You are witnessing the challenges across the world. The crisis in West Asia is continuing, and the impact of the war is being felt globally. This situation also affects Bharat.”
Calling for unity, PM Modi added, “At a time when the nation is progressing, we need to remain patient. We must collectively conserve resources and protect the country’s interests. Just as we unitedly faced the challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic with a spirit of patriotism, we once again need to stand together to overcome the present crisis.”
The Prime Minister stressed that India could overcome challenges through collective effort and individual responsibility. Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, he praised BJP workers and said a ‘saffron wave’ had emerged strongly from Bengaluru.
Highlighting the significance of May 10, PM Modi recalled the beginning of the First War of Indian Independence in 1857, saying the spirit of courage and sacrifice remained India’s greatest strength. He also mentioned the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor and announced that he would attend the 75th anniversary celebrations of the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple in Gujarat on Monday.
Continuing his criticism of the Congress, Prime Minister Modi alleged that the party depended on alliances for political relevance. He also accused the Congress of failing women on the reservation issue.
“The BJP ended this politics and ensured the passage of the law providing 33 per cent reservation for women. But the Congress opposed the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill in Parliament,” he alleged.
The Prime Minister said Karnataka would play a major role in achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’. He also assured people that the Centre and the BJP were working in the nation’s best interests.
