Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday called on NDA leaders to maintain a strong focus on the poor, neo-middle class, youth, women and farmers, saying their aspirations must remain central to the country’s development journey.
Addressing Chief Ministers, alliance partners and senior leaders at an NDA conclave marking 12 years of the Modi government, the Prime Minister reflected on the achievements of the past decade while outlining priorities for the future.
Emphasising the need to protect those who have recently emerged from poverty, PM Modi said the government and public representatives must work tirelessly to ensure the neo-middle class does not slip back into hardship.
The Prime Minister said the government has made every effort to fulfil the expectations of India’s 1.4 billion citizens and stressed that the dream of Viksit Bharat has become a national resolve rather than the agenda of any individual or political party. He underscored his commitment to public service, stating that people represent God for him. PM Modi also highlighted measures aimed at the middle class, including tax simplification, infrastructure expansion and increased opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship.
According to him, these initiatives have helped create a more predictable and opportunity-rich environment for citizens.
PM Modi credited voters for recognising the importance of political stability and decisive governance, noting that India has moved beyond the era of coalition uncertainty that characterised several decades before 2014.
Referring to India’s economic performance despite global challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic, PM Modi pointed to the country’s 7.7 per cent economic growth in 2025-26 as evidence of the benefits of stable governance.
The Prime Minister reiterated that national interest must remain above party considerations and urged NDA leaders to continue working with a ‘Nation First’ approach.
The conclave reviewed achievements in infrastructure, digital empowerment, welfare schemes and national security, while charting a roadmap towards the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.
