Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the Indian Armed Forces on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, acknowledging their courage, discipline, and unwavering dedication to safeguarding the nation.
In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi praised the armed forces for their bravery and resolute spirit, saying their commitment serves as a powerful example of duty, discipline, and devotion to the country.
He also called upon citizens to contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their families.
“On Armed Forces Flag Day, we express our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who protect our nation with unwavering courage. Their discipline, resolve and spirit shield our people and strengthen our nation. Their commitment stands as a powerful example of duty, discipline and devotion to our nation. Let us also contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day fund,” PM Modi wrote in his post.
Earlier in the day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also extended greetings to the armed forces, lauding their valour and sacrifices.
In a post on X, he said, “On Armed Forces Flag Day, I salute the valour and sacrifices of our armed forces. Their courage safeguards our nation, and their selfless service reminds us of a debt we can never repay. I urge everyone to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Your support honours their dedication and strengthens those who protect us.”
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan also greeted all soldiers, veterans, and Veer Naris, recognising their resolute service, indomitable spirit, and contributions to India’s defence preparedness and national security.
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth hailed the armed forces and encouraged citizens to donate to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.
India has observed Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7 since 1949. The day honours soldiers who valiantly fought and continue to protect the country’s honour.
It also fosters national solidarity and raises funds for the welfare of war-disabled soldiers, Veer Naris, and their dependents.
Donations collected through the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund help provide financial and social support to these heroes and their families.
Armed Forces Flag Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by soldiers and an opportunity for citizens to show gratitude through contributions and recognition of their dedication to the nation.
