PM Modi Unveils ‘Nav Sankalp’ Resolutions For A Sustainable Future

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a global audience on Wednesday at the inauguration of the Navkar Mahamantra Diwas.

During the event, PM Modi introduced a set of nine resolutions, called ‘Nav Sankalps’, aimed at creating a sustainable, healthy, and prosperous future for the nation.

Promoting Water Conservation and Environmental Protection

PM Modi emphasized the importance of water conservation as the first resolution, reflecting on a prophecy by Buddhi Sagar Maharaj Ji. He urged citizens to value every drop, ensuring water availability for future generations.

Prime Minister Modi also launched the second resolution, Ek ped Maa ke Naam, promoting afforestation by planting trees in the name of mothers.

“We have already planted over 100 crore trees in recent months,” PM Modi added.

Encouraging Local Products and Sustainable Living

The third Sankalp focused on cleanliness, urging citizens to contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The fourth Sankalp, ‘Vocal for Local’, encouraged reducing reliance on foreign products and supporting goods that reflect India’s heritage.

The fifth resolution, ‘Desh Darshan’, urged Indians to explore the beauty and culture within the country before traveling abroad.

PM Modi’s sixth resolution called for embracing natural farming, urging farmers to move away from harmful chemical fertilizers in favor of sustainable practices.

PM Modi Encourages Healthy Lifestyle

The Prime Minister also encouraged healthier lifestyles through the seventh Sankalp, which advocated incorporating millet into diets and reducing oil consumption.

The eighth resolution focused on embracing yoga and sports for better physical and mental well-being.

The ninth Sankalp encouraged helping the poor and supporting those in need.

PM Modi highlighted Jainism’s role in shaping India’s identity and its influence on global challenges.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Navkar Mantra for its universal relevance, calling it a ‘mantra of human focus, spiritual practice, and inner purification’.

The Prime Minister further concluded by emphasizing the importance of preserving Jainism’s intellectual contributions, noting that India has granted official language status to Prakrit and Pali to foster deeper research.
