PM Modi To Visit Slovakia In First-Ever Trip By An Indian Prime Minister

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commence an official visit to Slovakia on Sunday at the invitation of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

The trip holds special significance as it will be the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the nation gained independence in 1993.

The visit is being regarded as a major milestone in India-Slovakia relations and is expected to open a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.

During his stay, PM Modi will hold delegation-level discussions with Prime Minister Fico and meet Slovak President Peter Pellegrini.

The leaders will likely review existing cooperation and identify fresh opportunities for collaboration.

Key areas of discussion are likely to include trade, investment, automobile manufacturing, and railway infrastructure.

The visit aims to strengthen economic engagement and promote industrial partnerships between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the visit underlines India’s commitment to expanding its relationship with Slovakia across multiple sectors.

Both sides will likely explore ways to enhance political dialogue and deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

India’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Apoorva Srivastava, described the visit as a historic development in bilateral relations. She noted that the trip would help strengthen not only political cooperation but also economic security and cultural exchanges.

The Prime Minister will also likely interact with senior executives from leading Slovak companies.

Several Slovak firms have already invested in India, while business delegations from the European nation have visited India in recent years to explore commercial opportunities.

Slovakia’s growing interest in the Indo-Pacific region will likely feature in discussions.

The strategy focuses on political, technological, and economic cooperation. India is among the key countries included in this outreach.

Ahead of the visit, President Pellegrini welcomed Prime Minister Modi. He expressed confidence that the trip would open new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

The President said the visit could create fresh avenues for collaboration. He highlighted the potential for stronger ties between the two nations.
