PM Modi To Visit Assam; Inaugurate Northeast’s First Emergency Landing Facility

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on Saturday to inaugurate the Northeast’s first Emergency Landing Facility at Moran Bypass, Dibrugarh. His itinerary includes the launch of significant infrastructure, educational, and mobility projects designed to enhance the state’s growth and connectivity.

Key Highlights of PM Modi’s Assam Itinerary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Assam at 10:30 AM to open the Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) on Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh, marking the first such facility in the region.

The ELF expedites emergency operations and enables the rapid deployment of rescue and relief services in critical situations.

Later in the day, PM Modi will inaugurate several development works at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati.

A key highlight is the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu over the Brahmaputra River, which will significantly improve travel for residents of Guwahati and surrounding areas, boosting trade and regional economic activity.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate the National Data Centre for the North Eastern Region, aimed at reinforcing digital capabilities and ensuring data security.

Additionally, the government will introduce 225 electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme, modernising urban transport and promoting eco-friendly, sustainable mobility solutions.

During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Guwahati, a milestone for higher education in the Northeast.

The institute will attract students from across the country, strengthen the state’s educational ecosystem, and position Assam as a hub for advanced management studies.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will address BJP karyakartas in Guwahati. He reflected on the past decade, noting that the BJP-NDA government has worked to fulfil the aspirations of Assam’s people.

Ahead of the upcoming elections, PM Modi expressed hope that the people of Assam would continue to support the alliance.

PM Modi’s visit highlights a comprehensive approach to Assam’s development, combining infrastructure, education, digital growth, and sustainable transport.

These initiatives are expected to enhance economic opportunities, improve residents’ quality of life, and further establish Assam as a vital contributor to India’s North-Eastern progress.
