PM Modi To Unveil ₹1 Lakh Crore Fund To Boost Private Sector-Driven Research And Innovation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday unveil the ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund, aimed at building a strong private sector–driven research and innovation ecosystem in India.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, and deliver the keynote address during the event. The conclave, scheduled from 3 to 5 November, will gather over 3,000 participants from academia, research institutions, industry and government sectors.

The event will also host Nobel Laureates, leading scientists, innovators, and policymakers, creating a vibrant platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), discussions at ESTIC 2025 will revolve around 11 thematic areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Manufacturing, Bio-Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Digital Communications, Semiconductors, Agriculture Technologies, Energy, Climate and Environment, Health Technologies, Quantum Science, and Space Research.

The PMO stated that the conclave will feature expert talks, panel discussions, and technology showcases, aimed at encouraging partnerships between researchers, industry leaders, and young innovators to advance India’s science and technology landscape.

A Platform for Collaboration and Innovation

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh described ESTIC 2025 as a unique opportunity for start-ups, researchers, and young innovators to present creative solutions, find mentorship, and engage with industry leaders.

He said the forum seeks to bridge the gap between innovation and implementation, ensuring that research outcomes translate into tangible societal benefits.

Designed as an outcome-oriented platform, ESTIC 2025 aims to celebrate contributions from multiple stakeholders while strengthening ties between researchers, entrepreneurs, industries and funding bodies.

The launch of the RDI Scheme Fund marks a major step towards achieving India’s vision of becoming a global innovation hub, fostering synergy between science, technology, and industry.
