PM Modi To Release Rs 20,000 Crore Under PM-KISAN Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to release more than Rs 20,000 crore as part of the 17th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme during an event in Varanasi on 18 June.

This initiative will benefit 9.26 crore farmers across the nation, as announced by Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the government’s commitment to agriculture, noting that it has already disbursed over Rs 3.04 lakh crore to more than 11 crore farmers with meticulous transparency in beneficiary registration and verification processes.

With this latest release, the total amount transferred under the PM-KISAN scheme will exceed Rs 3.24 lakh crore since its inception.

The event will also witness Prime Minister Modi presenting certificates to more than 30,000 self-help groups recognized as Krishi Sakhis, marking another milestone in the PM-KISAN initiative launched in February 2019.

Under this scheme, farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal installments directly into their bank accounts.

Emphasizing the importance of farmers in his government’s agenda, PM Modi, who recently commenced his third term in office, has prioritized the timely disbursal of funds under the PM-KISAN Nidhi scheme.

PM-KISAN Virtual Farmer Engagement Event Spotlights Agricultural Outreach

Approximately 2.5 crore farmers across the country will virtually attend the event in Varanasi, along with 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), over 1 lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, and 5 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) to raise awareness about agricultural schemes.

Furthermore, Union Ministers will engage with farmers at 50 Krishi Vigyan Kendras to discuss various agricultural initiatives and distribute certificates to trained Krishi Sakhis.

Following the Kisan Sammelan, PM Modi will visit the Baba Kashi Vishwanath Temple and participate in the revered Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, reinforcing the cultural and spiritual significance of Varanasi.

The forthcoming event underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to agricultural development and welfare, ensuring sustainable growth and prosperity for farmers across the country.
